Hello, Bonjour, Hola. I'm Jess. I'm originally from Valdosta, GA (which is halfway between Atlanta and Orlando, you've probably driven through it on your way to Disney.) I'm a senior public relations major at Harding University in a sleepy town in Arkansas. Why Arkansas, you might ask? Well, I'm a third-generation Harding student, so you can say it's just where my family goes to school. How very old-school Southern of me. So anyways, I'm graduating in December, which means that I'm going to have to enter this "real world" that my parents have been talking about forever. Not sure how I will like it, but I'll give it a try.

Now on to the fun part. While Harding is in a sleepy town in Arkansas, they do have a campus in Paris (they actually have 7 campuses all over the world) and so I had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester while not getting too behind on my classes. I'd like to consider myself an expat, albeit a short-lived one. I was bit by the travel bug and can't get enough of it now. I'm determined to be one of those people who takes a European vacation at least every other year. Traveling as a student on a shoestring budget taught me that you really don't need that much money to travel Europe as long as you're smart about it.

So this is the place where i will share my past, present and future travel adventures, recipes and life ramblings. I have a dachshund named Dixie, like every other pet in the South, who is very photogenic, even though she can't do any tricks, to the disappointment of the neighborhood children.

I love: lattes, back porch sitting, the Atlanta Braves (and baseball in general), reading, exploring new places, typography, over-sized sunglasses, traveling by train and making new friends.

You loved this bio and STILL want to know more about me? Well I aim to please, so you can read more here.
*My two college roommates Samantha and Emily, who I met while studying in Paris,
helped start this blog back in October 2012. Their posts are hilarious,
so you should definitely read through the archives.

Awh! My mom has two dachshunds, Belle and Mollie, they are both very energetic. It's super cool that you grew up on Valdosta, I live about and hour and a half from there!
